In the wake of the April 21 freeze, I joined with New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball, Jen Metzger for Ulster County Executive, and representatives from multiple agricultural and county departments to meet with several Milton & Marlboro farmers.
We heard firsthand about the impact of the severe frost our region experienced several weeks ago.
While we are still likely weeks away from understanding the full extent of the damage, it’s critical that we continue standing with our farming community during these increasingly difficult and unpredictable weather events.
Agriculture remains such an important part of Marlborough and the Hudson Valley’s identity, economy, and future.
Our farmers need support, partnership, and resources as they navigate these challenges.
I’ll continue to stand by our farms, advocate, and do what I can to provide support.
